Waltonwood Ashburn celebrated its first successful food drive in partnership with the Community Church and its Messiah’s Market food pantry, which is devoted to helping families, youth and seniors receive nutritious meals. In honor of National Nutrition Month, Waltonwood Ashburn supported the profound cause and helped many people in need. Future residents and employees of Waltonwood Ashburn joined forces with members of the public to personally donate food items which were hand delivered each week to the Community Church. Altogether, they donated several hundred pounds of healthy food items to support neighboring families.

“We believe in partnering with area organizations to give back to seniors and families in the greater community,” said Justin Roberts, executive director of Waltonwood Ashburn. “Through this food drive, we had a wonderful opportunity to make a difference, and we look forward to working with Messiah’s Market food pantry again in the future.”

The efforts of Waltonwood Asburn – along with area food banks, which provide meals to about 12 percent of the local population – help to decrease the staggering number of households which go without regular or balanced meals. The Waltonwood Ashburn team and future residents plan to continue reaching out to the community by partnering with other nonprofit organizations throughout the year, which is sure to positively impact all those involved.

Waltonwood Ashburn is currently under construction, with plans to welcome its first resident later this year. The community is redefining all aspects of retirement living through its expansion to the greater Washington, D.C. area. The community will offer residents a wide range of amenities, from an extensive salon and spa center, scenic courtyards with ponds and gazebos, to a first-rate fitness room with European health and fitness equipment. Featuring independent living, assisted living and memory care, Waltonwood Ashburn will dedicate itself to providing a unique lifestyle with the right level of care to meet the needs of each resident.

Singh, the parent company of Waltonwood Ashburn, currently owns and operates 10 other

Waltonwood Senior Communities in Michigan and North Carolina, and has several other communities in development and under construction.
